Huono pesäpaikka

English text is the bottom of Finnish text.

Surullista. Parempaa onnea ensi kesälle!

Last summer, the Redwing made their nest in a bad place in the allotment garden of Kotiniemi. The nest was upon the woodpile at the wall of one cottage. The Redwing hatched the eggs, but it didn’t take much time when a squirrel came and took the eggs from Redwing. That place was too open for nest. It was so sad.

  1. Hello, sweet shots of the Redwing on the nest. They do not always pick the best places to nest. It is sad! Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

  2. Upea kuva! Harvoin tulee nähtyä hautovaa lintua noin läheltä! Orava on oikea peto, vaikka söpön näköinen onkin!

    1. Kiitos Anne. Oravista en paljon pidä - mutta mielettömän söpön näköisiä ne ovat.

    1. Kiitos kommentista! Nythän taitaa olla jo ainakin kaksi 100-lintua kisaa. Mittailin sähköisellä kartalla jo vuoden alussa 400 metrin säteet kotiovelta, mutta on sitten kuitenkin jäänyt osallistumatta. Löydä 100 lintua pihapiiristäsi "kisa" löytyy täältä:

  4. Wonderful to see the Redwing nest. We of course only see them from October to March in England.

Such a shame about losing the nest to a squirrel. They really are pests. Let's hope the Redwing learned from its mistake.

  5. Hienot kuvat! Rastaiden pesäpaikat ovat usein vaarallisia

  6. That's too bad. But I have to believe that nature works out in spite of these setbacks.
