No mitä ihmettä - What on earth

 Englis below

Ehkä niillä on toinen pesintä.

Kuvat saa isommaksi klikkaamalla jotakin kuvaa.

There is a lot of bird’ chicks outside. Many birds are still singing. Maybe they're nesting for the second time.

I had a fun experience watching the photos of the Great Spotted Woodpecker I took this morning. There's a woodpecker with a chick in the pictures. Suddenly I noticed that the top left of the photo sits big brown owl on the railing. Brown owl! So it’s got to be something problem in its feathers, because there are not so brown owls at all… What on earth! I zoomed in on the photo and I realized it’s not an owl. It’s just a bunch of dried and brown leaves. But it looks like an owl in these photos.

 Thank you Eileen

  6. We call that a "Leaf Bird." There are also "stick birds," "transformer birds" that sit on power lines, "ocotillo birds" in the Southwest desert, and lots of other illusions.

  7. Kiva etten ole ainoa, jolle tuollaista käy. Mutta sehän olisi VOINUT olla pöllö.

  11. One of the great joys this time of the year is to experience the many different young creatures that are starting out on life's journey. Many will not survive but those that do will go on to raise their own young to charm us all over again.

Kivat kuvat!

  17. Well, the woodpecker is lovely. I have mistaken twigs for birds more than once! And once (in Alaska) I thought I saw a bear but it was a big rock.
