Hailuoto - eteläranta / south shore

Hailuoto Airport

Järripeippo/Brambling

Hailuodon etelärannalla sijaitsee Pöllä, jonka ranta-alue pohjoisrannan tavoin on suojeltu alue.

On the southern shore of island Hailuoto lies Pöllä, whose shore area, like the northern shore, is a protected area.

Pöllässä on myös lentokenttä. The airport is also located in Pöllä

Merihanhi - Greylag Goose

Edellisessä postauksessa kirjoitin tyllistä. Identifikaatio oli väärä. Kyseessä oli pikkutylli. Pikkutyllillä on keltaiset silmärenkaat. Tyllillä niitä ei ole.

In the last post, I wrote about Common Ringed Plover. The identification was wrong. The bird was Little Ringed Plover (Charadrius dubius). The Little Ringed Plover got a yellow eye rings. The Ringed Plover doesn’t have them.

Merihanhia kuvasin 19.5. Greylag Goose I photographed 19.5

Varhain aamulla - Early morning

 English below

Klobbenin saaressa pesinyt merikotkapari sai kolme poikasta. Se on suuri määrä poikasia. Ensimmäisessä kuvassa on Klobben. Merikotkakin näkyy kuvassa saaren vasemmassa laidassa pesän päällä istumassa. Kyseisessä pienessä saaressa pesii merikotkan lisäksi harmaahaikaroita ja merimetsoja.Kuvan saa isommaksi klikkaamalla kuvaa.

Greylag goose and Northern Shoveler. Merihanhia ja lapasorsa.

This week I am woke up several morning at 4.00 am. Before 5.00 I’ve gone birding. You don't have to stress about safety distance in the early hours (there are no peoples so early). These are some photos I took on Wednesday in Viikki nature reserve area. There were a lot of birds. That morning my nicest sighting was a Tundra swan and Garganey. In this post are now only photos of Northern Shoveler. It is a funny looking bird.

I have written in previous post about White-tailed eagles nesting in Helsinki. Those eagles have three chicks now. That’s a lot of chicks. Usually the white-tailed eagle only gets one or two chicks.

The first photo shows Klobben’s island. White-tailed eagle can also be seen in the photo on the left side of the island sitting on the nest. In that small island are nesting also Gray herons and Great cormorants.

Merihanhi - Greylag goose

English below

I took these photos of Greylag goose yesterday morning in the field of Viikki, Helsinki. Greaylag geese is very beautiful geese.

Many bloggers around the world have written so beautifully in their blogs that the birds know nothing about the corona virus. Birds live their lives, they sing and are beautiful. I am saying the same thing. Let’s watch the birds and walk in the nature.

Take very good care of yourselves. (I’m fine.)
