Edellisessä postauksessa oli kuva Suomenojan lintualtaalla olevasta keinotekoisesta pesästä. Jotkut kysyivät kommenteissa lisätietoja tästä pesästä. Kiitos kysymyksistä. Vastaan kysymyksiin nyt.
The previous post had a photo of an artificial nest. Some asked in their comments for more information about this nest. Thank you for the questions. I will answer the questions now.
"Tiedossamme ei ole, kuka ne on asentanut, mutta nämä tuubit ovat sorsalintujen keinopesiä. Erityisesti sinisorsa hyväksyy tällaisen pesän, jonne esimerkiksi minkin kiipeäminen on pyritty estämään telineen muovi/metallirullilla."
I don't really know anything about these artificial nests other than what has been written about them on the Suomenoja website:
"We don't know who installed them, but these tubes are artificial nests for ducks'. In particular, the mallard accepts such an artificial nest"
Kesän kuluessa selviää pesikö niissä lintuja.
During the summer it becomes clear whether birds nest in these artificial nests.
Alli on kaunis lintu.
The Long-tailed Duck is a very pretty bird. It breeds in northern Lappland (northern part of Finland). Globally, the Long-tailed duck is an endangered species, but it is hunted in Finland. There is one more thing that cannot be understood in any sense.

A very interesting post. I really think it is time for hunting waterfowl to cease. It is ridiculous to allow it to continue with species that we know are endangered. And even where hunting is legal and regulated there is so much abuse, and limits are often exceeded. Surely people could occupy their time better than by going out and killing other creatures.
VastaaPoistaIhanat havainnot!
VastaaPoistaSinisorsakoiraat näyttävät mielestäni aina kesällä joko pareilta tai ryhmiltä/yhteisöiltä. Kundit hengailevat, kun jäävät vapaalle 😂?
VastaaPoistaLove your talking Mallard Duck photos. Mallard ducks I have been around are usually very vocal. The area looks very beautiful to walk.
VastaaPoistaBeautiful bird photos. I have never seen an Alli so I am happy that you shared it. Have a wonderful weekend.
VastaaPoistaI really like the Eider and the Gadwall.
VastaaPoista...sometimes nature needs a helping hand! I have seen artificial nests before, but those were a bit different. Thanks for sharing.
VastaaPoistaBeautiful life with birds, I love the Long Tailed Ducks, fabulous.
VastaaPoistaawww such pretty ducks!! i see the long tailed duck here in the winter time, i always think it looks like a puppy!!
VastaaPoistai have never seen an artificial nest quite like that!!
Beautiful birds and habitat captured.
VastaaPoistaInteresting about the artificial nests.
VastaaPoistaYou are lucky to have that many species. Makes your birding trips worth while. Can´t remember ever seen the Alli. So sad people are hunting it. Some people really seem to dislike nature as they do everything to destroy it :(
VastaaPoistaLove your shots!
Kiva tietää tuo pesäjuttu.🙂
VastaaPoistahi we also have such nests around my water,,yet no birds are hatching there,,nice post
VastaaPoistaThank you for your comments.
