Lammassaari sijaitsee vanhankaupunginlahden ja Viikin luonnonsuojelualueiden vierellä. Näkymä toisessa suunnassa muistuttaa, että olemme Helsingissä, asukasluvultaan Suomen suurimassa kaupungissa.
Lammassaari is located next to Vanhankaupunginlahti (the Old Town Bay) and Viikki nature reserves. The view in the other direction reminds that we are in Helsinki, the largest city in Finland in terms of population.

Tuntuu erikoiselta, että noin lähellä kaupunkia on noin paljon lampaita. hiljaisuutta siellä ei kai ole liikenteen melun takia.

PoistaTuolla vanhankaupunginlahden ruovikkoalueilla on linnustonsuojelullisista syistä laidunnusta. Yleensä siellä on lehmiä.
Niin, Helsingissä kyllä saa etsimällä etsiä hiljaisuutta. Vanhankaupunginlahdella ja Lammassaaressa ei aamulla varhain/aamuyöstä kuulu mitään muuta kuin lintujen laulua. Käyn siellä aina varhaisella, joten silloin voi nauttia luonnon rauhasta. Ehkäpä jo viimeistään klo 7.00 alkaa kaupungin taustahumu. Tosin, Lammassaareen ei taida varsinaisesti tieliikenteen ääniä kuulua.
